The Football Association (FA) is currently doing its best to try and hire the best possible backroom staff for soon-to-be England coach Tuchel, who will take over the reign of the Three Lions at the start of 2025. Tuchel will be getting a renewed coaching staff as he aims to guide the national team to success at the 2026 World Cup.

As per, the FA is now looking to add a goalkeeping coach to Tuchel's arsenal in the form of Chelsea coach Hilario, who has been at the club since 2016 and worked with the German at Stamford Bridge. The former Portuguese goalkeeper is said to be open to the move with Chelsea also said to not be against Hilario leaving. The FA had reportedly offered to sign the 49-year-old on a part-time contract so he could continue working with Chelsea, but the club would rather avoid such an arrangement.

Chelsea have already seen their head of performance analysis James Melbourne leave Stamford Bridge to join Tuchel’s staff at England, and the same could be the fate for Hilario in the near future as the FA want the situation sorted out by the end of the current international break.

England are preparing for their final games under interim boss Lee Carsley against Greece and Republic of Ireland before Tuchel takes over at the helm in January.
