Liverpool should have focused on a move for Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey before he signed a new contract.
What’s the word?
Jurgen Klopp had one of the more successful transfer windows compared to his Premier League counterparts.
The German coach brought in Fabinho, Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri and goalkeeper Alisson.
Liverpool have been tipped to challenge for the title this season, and it is understandable to see why given that they have a scintillating attack made up of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane.
The club have now solved their goalkeeping issue by bringing in a world-class stopper, so there is no excuse for a genuine title run.
Although, their chances would have been boosted even further if the club had signed Bailey from Bayer Leverkusen.
The 21-year-old was linked to numerous Premier League clubs, but at the weekend, he ended up signing a new long-term deal at the Bundesliga outfit.
Have Liverpool missed an opportunity?
The attack is not the first thing that many people would advise Liverpool to build on given the players that they already have.
However, last season they were lucky in that their top stars got through the majority of the campaign injury-free.

The Reds have always required more strength in depth, and they have that now to an extent.
However, Bailey would have taken them up a gear as the young winger, who scored 12 goals and created six assists last season, has the pace and skill that would suit Klopp’s setup.
At the moment, the attack-minded star seems content at Leverkusen, but Liverpool should keep an eye on him.
