According to The Sun, West Ham are set to make a £35million bid for Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson.
What’s the deal, then?
The 27-year-old England international is now supposedly Manuel Pellegrini’s No.1 target because they have failed to agree a deal for Celta Vigo forward Maxi Gomez.
The Hammers have already signed attacking midfielder Pablo Fornals earlier this month from Villareal for £24million and are now looking at signing a striker following the departures of Lucas Perez and Andy Carroll from the club.
Javier Hernandez is also rumoured to be on his way out of the London Stadium in what has already been a hectic summer in east London.
Wilson would fit perfectly in four-pronged West Ham attack
The arrival of Fornals was one which excited a great number of the claret and blue contingent, bringing with him the clout of being an internationally capped Spanish playmaker.

The move showed their supporters they are fully intent on buying high calibre players to add to the quality they brought in last summer.
On top of that, Felipe Anderson was one of the highlights of the 2018/19 campaign for the Irons as he contributed 10 goals and five assists, while Marko Arnautovic recovered from a disappointing run of form following his January transfer saga by scoring three times in the final two games of the season.
And now Wilson could be the final piece of the jigsaw which tops off a devastating front four alongside Anderson, Fornals and Arnautovic.
The 27-year-old has continually improved since his 23-goal season in the Championship which saw Bournemouth promoted to the Premier League.
He netted five times in his opening season in the top flight and has improved on that tally every year, finishing the last campaign on 14.
The arrival of the former Coventry City man could also allow Arnautovic to move back out onto the left-hand side where he played nine times for West Ham in the 2017/18 season before being moved into the centre due to a lack of central attacking options.
While he has impressed there generally, he went through a spell in the second half of 2018/19 where he scored just once in nine games playing in that position.
Wilson’s arrival would allow Arnautovic to move back to where he has played most of his career, and with Fornals and Anderson propping up a lethal attack fans should be in buoyant mood come August 10.
